Her pristine singing voice became her pedestal to fame; but behind the thunderous applauses and 300 plus trophies and recognitions, is a rocky and cruel life secluded to many.

Beyond being Regine “Chona” Velasquez’s greatest nemesis during the heydays of their singing showdown, Minerva “Eva” Castillo is just an ordinary woman gifted with an enviable talent. Her parents discovered her penchant for singing at the age of 9, and soon, Eva’s career steadily rolled along with numerous competitions and recognitions tucked under her belt.

While Eva is now having a burgeoning singing career, her road to fame was a rough one. She endured a childhood of emotional and financial poverty. Eva was even bullied, ridiculed and taunted because of her looks. After marrying at the age of 17, Eva doggedly pursued a better-paying job to make ends meet for her family.

It was during these trying times that Eva’s career fell, and she retired from performing.

But fate has a different plan for Eva. Through SRO Cinemaserye, viewers will get a chance to know the real and personal story behind the voice of Eva Castillo.

With the special participation of Asia’s Songbird Ms. Regine Velasquez, Ms. Manilyn Reynes reprises the role of Eva along with Glaiza de Castro and Renz Juan.
